The baseball field at Nazareth Academy bears the name R.J. Sanders Field, as a memorial.  R.J. was a graduate of the class of 1995 and was a baseball player all four years. He passed away on October 3, 2001, in a tragic construction accident.  He was a proud member of Illinois Council of Carpenter’s Local 13.  The scholarship benefits a member of the Nazareth community who is in financial need.  Past recipients have been able to complete the outstanding academic program at Nazareth Academy and continue to go on to college.  We are proud to be able to support students at such a great academic institution, as well as baseball program.
